WoW – My druid gets some upgrades! 19 iunie, 2008

Yesterday I decided to improve my feral druid a little because I had the WORST spec ever (pretty much all the points stuffed in the Feral Combat tree, including in Nurturing Instincts and the rest in Furor and Improved Mark of the Wild in Restoration tree). Also I was worried about my DPS which most of the raids sucks because I was playing Travian or surfing the Internet during trash mob fights and because I wasn`t respecting the DPS cycle for druid and just using Mangle then Ferocious Bite *ashamed*.
Good reading material for druids that want to improve themselves:
- WoWWiki has a nice list of suggestions for spec`ing.
- Catform DPS sequences from theBigBearButt.com
- The Bible of us all, the Elitist Jerks forum and the druid section.
So I packed my Badges of Justice and headed to G`eras and bought 2 new idols to replace my old piece of crap, Idol of the Wild.
I picked Everbloom Idol for Cat form, since the DPS Cycle includes spamming the Shred ability and improved Shred damage can only do good. It costs 15 badges of Justice and can be bought from G’eras.
For tanking I bought Idol of Terror from G’eras for 20 badges of Justice. When you tank in Bear form you spam mangle on cooldown so the proc (65 AGI for 10 sec) is a small boost of crit, dodge, armor that can only help.
I respec to this. I didn`t put any points in Brutal Impact (2/2 stuns are 1 sec longer) because in raids this is useless, most mobs are Immune to stun anyway and if they aren`t, I can go in stealth and use Lacerate then Mangle then Shred then at 5 points combo either Ferocious Bite (if the mob has low HP) or Rip for some nice steady damage. I put only 1/3 in Primal Tenacity because in raids I play more as Cat DPS than tank so I don`t need extra protection against stuns and fears. The most important thing my old spec missed was Omen of Clarity which procs often and it`s very useful.
With my new spec and Idols I went to Hyjal. Sadly, because of the heavy amount of AOE going on there for the trash waves, mages were on top of the damage list (of course), but I was someplace decent among the melee DPS crew. My guild, Insight, and Aman Shan Re joined forces and we are raiding together. The alliance is going pretty well, they killed Supremus and Shadow of Akama last week. But back to the Hyjal raid, we 1 shotted the 1st 4 bosses, very smooth raid, no AFKs and no mistakes. I got a new item, Razorfury Mantle from Kaz’Rogal.
I used Bladed Shoulderpads of the Merciless (Karazhan loot) before, but I could afford to lose the +hit since I was capped anyway. The Attack Power and Stamina boost is a nice improvement. The graphics is nice too, the shoulders look like they are filled with blood (?) that moves around.
I like Hyjal, I hope I`ll be able to post soon that I got Pillar of Ferocity.

hyjal *drool*

we’re not there yet (i think the latest achievement was downing al’ar) and *i’m* not anywhere, actually… still don’t have my computer back, so tonight i am going to offtank kara. yesterday i did bm on normal
